Remove the clip that secures the throttle cable in place and slide the throttle cable off, detach the kick-down cable also.

Unplug the ignition coil, and unbolt its bracket from the Intake manifold, remove the coil and bracket.

Mark the position of the number one spark plug wire on the distributor
cap, mark the plug wire also for faster identification upon
installation, unplug all the spark plug wires from the distributor cap,
remove the distributor cap.

Mark the direction the ignition rotor is pointing, mark the distributor
and the intake manifold, to make sure that you install the distributor
correctly after you replace the intake manifold gasket.
If you don't mark the direction the rotor is pointing now, the only way
you will be able to set the initial ignition timing will be by finding
the number one cylinder on its compression stroke.

Unplug the electrical connector from the ignition module, remove the
bolt and bracket that fasten the distributor to the intake manifold and
remove the distributor assembly from the engine.
Remove the remaining brackets from the intake manifold, remove all the
bolts that fasten the intake manifold in place and remove the intake
manifold from the engine.
