Before you start this repair place a clean drain pan under the front of the car and drain the engine coolant by opening the drain valve at the bottom of the radiator, next, remove the small bolts that secure the plastic cove to the firewall under the hood and remove it from the vehicle.
With the plastic cover removed you now have access to the heater hose clamps, using a long screwdriver loosen the hose clamps and detach the heater hoses from the heater core, note that this is the perfect opportunity to replace the heater hoses in the event that they look old or feel soft and weak.
Working inside the car, remove the plastic cover located on the passenger side under the dash.
Next, remove the bolts located at the rear of the glove box and move it out of the way.
Depress the plastic tabs with you fingers as shown in the image and detach the cable from the bracket.
detach the metal clip that holds the plastic bracket shown in the picture.
Remove the two bolts ( upper and lower ) that hold the heater core cover to the heater box, pull the cover out and set it aside.
Remove the two bolts that hold the heater core to the heater box and pull it out.
Compare the new heater core with the old one prior to installing it on the vehicle.
Install the new heater core using the old bolts, next, close the radiator drain plug and add coolant to the system, start the engine and inspect for leaks, allow the thermostat to open, turn the heater on to ensure that it works properly, if everything works ok and there are no coolant leaks proceed to install the plastic cover and the remaining items back on the vehicle and you are done.
